  • Citation to Daphne Innerarity

In the nineteen seventies and early nineteen eighties, netball was one of St Jago's prime sports. The girls in green and gold played precise team netball and advanced to the highest level of school competition. Their verve mirrored the personality of their outstanding coach, Daphne Innerarity. She was a cheerful disciplinarian as her girls will attest and honed them into one of the finest teams in the land. Trained in part in England, Daphne taught strong netball fundamentals but set the tempo fast. The results spoke volumes for the Innerarity St Jago blend of Jamaica speed and technical work. Year after year, St Jago beat the best rural schools and pushed its urban rivals to the limit.
  • Citation to Horace Brown

St Jago to the core, Horace 'Maggie' Brown is a Monk Street hero. He has stayed active with the school's track and field programme since his own days at Champs when he ran the 400 for St Jago. Horace 'Maggie' Brown has consistently and reliably served his school, his parish and his country.  For this, St Jago High salutes him at Sports Day 2014.
  • Citation to John Leiba

When John Leiba left St Jago in 1967, he vowed to make athletics at Monk Street a model of performance and achievement. Fiercely loyal, he has spearheaded the school's drive to the forefront of high school athletics through coaching, forward planning and funding. The St Jago Past Students and former Jamaica Bar Association President is himself an example of Labor Omnia Vincit and triumph of the right blend of sport and study. For all these achievements and the inspiration he gives to students past and present, St Jago salutes John Leiba on Sports Day 2014.

Monday was 2 weeks since we had a serious electric storm and heavy rains in Spanish Town. Lightning hit the school. The main block (the original block) was hit badly. The buildings are intact, but we lost almost all our machines and equipment in the Administrative Sections. The surge protectors, server, computers, printers, televisions, telephones in the Principal's, Secretary's, Bursar's and main offices were hit. Internet connection is gone, the switchboard is gone. The fax line (907 1907) and the Principal's straight line are the only ones that work.

The surge protectors, server, computers, printers, televisions, telephones in the Principal's, Secretary's, Bursar's and main offices were hit. Internet connection is gone, the switchboard is gone. The fax line (907 1907) and the Principal's straight line are the only ones that work.
